Evaluation and Reflection

May 9 2025

This week I've already done my sketching to prepare for my final piece it has great technique on the sketches. Now i am going to add more colour in a digital way. I also watched the video that Annette sent me, so it can help me as a guide, so I can follow along.

May 13

I added colours on the sketch pages to make a comic for my final piece. Also, on the colour I picked bright colours for effect. I struggled a little bit on the colours, but after I got to know how to use the colours on Adobephotoshop created by Annette, she gave me a video guide so she can show/teach so can get better on the tools. The good thing is I get to know the tools on how to use Adobephotoshop its going to improve my creativity.

Adobe Photoshop things I have done

I did the colours well, in detail. Now, when I have time I will carry on the other pages to add more colours on my sketch pages I got half way to finish the third page in Adobe Photoshop. I remember some of the tool names I use in Photoshop. The tool that I picked is an image, then I went to Adjustments, under which I picked Colour Balance. Once I picked this item too, the colour reflected on my character sketch.

                                                        Evaluation

My media product for FMP is a Comic design about a stick man becoming a strong man through transformation. I followed the deadline. In my initial proposal, I mentioned I was going to use Adobe Premiere Pro, but I decided to pick Adobe Photoshop to add colours to my sketch.

I was going to use drawing tablets, but I found it easier to sketch on paper. I used a pencil, ruler and paper. I decided to draw it on paper because I was doing well drawing on the tablet, but once I tried to save it, it somehow got disconnected. I preferred drawing on paper so I could put it in the scanner. I achieved my goal of a good comic telling a story, adding colours was the most difficult part, but it got resolved with a video.

My target audience's needs are met. I added colours for a scene. The colour and the scene makes it interesting because in comic pages should have some colour to make the pages interesting and entertaining There are many comic design I know and seen for example manga comics, mostly they do not put much in the page box colour but add more the art style as well with speech bubbles. Those people made manga comics, do added colour to the front title page. The style of my drawing the idea i just did now With my drawing, I made a comparison of before and after, like what I just did now, a stick man becoming a strong man My example is when people trying to draw a character, so they use drawing step by step of a person. I also use shapes like a square and a circle for the head to create my characters, to make them interesting and realistic as a human head

I chose a smaller measurement because it represents the beginning of how he started before, and when he becomes a human, he becomes big. I use the measurements to represent the size of the character as it grows.   The softwhare i used is Adobe Photoshop for adding colours for my pages. The tools i use is the paint bucket tool the tolorance is just about 10 so i can easily fill in the colours, then i picked a lighter colour so i can have space to put the background. Next I used is colour balance which reflects the colour of my character to pick a bright colour for good effects.

Colour combination was important in my comic design because that's my interest and it makes the comic design more interesting. I use horizontal and vertical lines for drawing straight lines on the design pages for some backgrounds. I also used horizontal and vertical lines to draw a pull-up bar for my characters. I used it to create a good effect.

The examples that influenced the examples before I look at my design Gurren Laggan, MHA, because those anime almost had the same story, so I made up my own. I used those anime stories have an example so I can slowly think about what I should do for my own story. Also the my influence from Dragon Ball Z is because it represents the power level of getting stronger, because of the use of colours, character designs, the backgrounds and the effects, that's what makes it so interesting.

What works well on my product is the design sketch, the colour effect, and the tools I have picked; it was really fun.

My product still matches the idea really well. I should've added more colours and some effects for the characters, made the drawings a little bit bigger and clearer. Also, if I have time, I could sketch on the tablet.
